Privacy at Chomu

Chomu is a simple hiragana and katakana quiz app. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no backend — this page explains the little bit of data that stays on your device.

At a glance — data we collect
Data typeExamplesWhy
Quiz progressBest scores per category, quizzes completedShown to you on the Progress screen

01What we collect

Chomu doesn't ask you to create an account or sign in, and it doesn't connect to any server. The only data it keeps is your quiz progress — your best score for each category (Hiragana, Katakana) and how many quizzes you've completed — stored locally on your device using standard app storage.

We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, photos, microphone/camera data, or any identifier. Chomu doesn't request access to any of these.

02How we use it

Your quiz progress is used for exactly one thing: showing it back to you on the Progress screen, so you can see your best scores and how many quizzes you've completed.

No ad targeting No data sold No analytics SDKs No third-party trackers No network requests

Chomu has no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs integrated, and makes no network requests — there's no server for your data to be sent to.

03Who we share it with

Nobody. Your quiz progress never leaves your device — Chomu has no backend, no analytics provider, and no third-party service it talks to.

04Retention & deletion

Your quiz progress stays on your device until you clear it or delete the app. You can reset it at any time from Progress → Delete My Data — this immediately clears your best scores and quiz count.

No support ticket needed. Resetting your progress is a single in-app action, and deleting the app removes everything else.

05Your rights

Because Chomu stores nothing outside your device, you're always in full control:

  • Access your data — it's visible directly in the app, on the Progress screen.
  • Delete your data at any time — tap Delete My Data, or uninstall the app.

If you're in a region with additional statutory rights (such as the EU/UK or California), those rights apply to you as provided by law, and you can reach us at the email below with any questions.

06Children

Chomu is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them — in fact, Chomu doesn't collect personal data from anyone.

07Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
